My Creative Writing

Hello!

In my English class we have been studying Creative Writing, so I thought I would share my latest pieces of writing with you! I hope you like them, I worked hard. :)

E16

P.S we were told to write a setting for a horror story.

The blue and yellow painted walls surround me as I sit at the back of E16. The room is quite large, however the thirty animals who join me in my English classes seem to manage to fill it. Sixteen grey and brown desks, which must be decades old, are placed in rows across the classroom. The rubber edgings hang loosely off each edge and collect dust. The once grey table tops are decorated with drawings, names, words, scratches and the occasional phone number. Dust and fluff collects in the shallow puddles of Pritt Stick, which were accidentally smeared onto the rough surface. I sit upon a dark blue, plastic chair. It is uncomfortable and awkward to sit on. The plastic seat is loosely attached to the spindly, metal chair legs and makes a clicking sound every time I move.

I struggle to contain my frustration at the rest of my classmates who are screaming and shouting; I am the only one who is silent. I don't have any friends in this class and  refuse to talk to my repulsive desk partner who reminds me of a Warthog. The air is thick and stuffy; the sickly sweet metallic scent of blood fills my nostrils. I can hear the wind rushing past the windows and the heavy rain drops pounding against the glass, begging to be let in. The sky is a dark grey and has small cracks of light squeezing through the gaps in the rainclouds. Lightning flashes and small shadows dance around the room; thunder vibrates the floor and pens roll off desks.

We were told to write three paragraphs to follow an opening of a story we were given. I didn't write the opening, so I won't upload it. You don't need the other writing, so it won't effect you. This is all my work.

The Psychic

“It’s about time you arrived.” she snapped at me. The rain beats against the windows as I saunter into Helen Snake’s office. She had requested my services just over an hour ago. I presume she wants me to track another delinquent who has fallen into the hands of the Royals. They do this every few months, take human boys and turn them. The humans think they are special, being let into our world. Little do they know, hundreds of boys came before them. The Royals use them to carry out their assignments, sending them out into the world to kill us.

“It’s nice to see you too, Helen” I said with a smirk. The small woman shoots me a glare through the yellow tinged lenses of her glasses. I momentarily look around her office. The floor is concrete and the walls are painted white. The only thing hung up is the large antique clock that reads 11:25pm. Helen sits at an old wooden desk placed in the middle of the room, directly in front of a large window adorned with garish lilac curtains. A large lamp with a grey lampshade sits on her desk and is surrounded by a pot of assorted pens and three pieces of paper. On one piece is the face of a teenage boy, he has hazel eyes, pale skin and dark brown hair. The other two pages are covered with large amounts of writing. Throughout the text the name “Andy Chester” is repeated.

“You aren’t here to be my friend, Lucas. Use your powers to get inside that boy’s head” she brutally poked the image as she spoke “and find him. Now.” I did as I was asked and closed my eyes. It is different every time I track somebody. I have to cut through the swarm of my thoughts and focus on the target. I see his face in the distance and grapple onto his mind. I can access what he is seeing, hearing and thinking. Once I break through and my soul collides with his, I start searching for clues as to where he is. I see heavy rain pounding against the dark sidewalk. He is about to turn down a road when I see the sign: Greenway Avenue. I return to my body and glance up at Helen, who is staring intently at me. “He’s on Greenway Avenue” I mutter to her and she immediately picks up her mobile and starts barking orders at her assassin.

I hope you liked my writing. I am really enjoying the topic at school. The final task/test is to write a story titled 'The Assassin'. If I think it is okay, I will post that too. Please comment your opinions! I really want to improve my writing skills.

P.S this is all my work, please don't copy it.

Why I am bored of School ALREADY!

Hello!
Today I have been overwhelmed with homework, much like last weekend. I have been writing essays, designing money boxes, memorizing French vocabulary and more. I am exhausted!! I have been told the legend of the relaxing weekend and don't believe a word of it! I have ten minutes of peace then I realize that there is homework due in tomorrow.
In my opinion, I think we should spend more time in school and have later starting times. I think it will allow for pupils to get more sleep and learn more. It doesn't affect me that much, despite my moaning, because- according to my friends- I am an all-day person. I'm not cranky in the morning or evening. I can stay up until 3 am reading and be perfectly fine when I wake up at 6:45 am for school.
I am bored of school already, because over the 6 week holiday I forgot about all the annoying things that are a daily occurrence at school. I forgot that you have to queue for ten minutes to go to the bathroom, I forgot that everybody else is half asleep and walk around like zombies and I don't know how I forgot, but I did, that when the new year sevens arrive they run around screaming like they own the place. I wish our school provided 'year 7 free area' stickers that we could attach to our seats at lunch!
I have weird habits that occur at school, such as plaiting my hair when I'm bored in Geography, drumming my fingers on the table when I'm unsure or confused and more. These are signs of my boredom and lack of attention. Obviously, I still take in the information and work hard at school, however I sometimes lack enthusiasm.
Learning can be exciting and interesting, but teachers don't seem to understand that. They are quite happy to give you a textbook and expect you to be enjoy answering the same, boring questions. If we were asked to act out scenes from History or read a novel about a mathematician that included sums or test out Scientific theories, I think that teenagers would enjoy learning more and engage in what lessons.
This year we have new teachers and classes. The strong have been separated from the weak and I appreciate that. I feel like I am actually focusing.  I am really enjoying Science and English. However, in Maths and Geography we have teachers that are new to the school and handing out consequences willy-nilly! They aren't very friendly and are just irritating. They give us homework due in for the next day, despite the one-week average and blatantly don't understand our school systems. I wish we could keep them behind at break to revise the unwritten school rules that EVERYBODY FOLLOWS!

Introductions

Hello!
If you are reading this you have stumbled across my little blog. I will fill this blog with my ramblings about life! I am a teenage girl, however I am not an expert at everything I do. I am not one of those girls on the internet who will appear to be perfect and have her life together. I am a clumsy, unorganized and unattractive girl who spends her time laughing, humming along to her current favourite song- Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips, in case you were wondering ;)- at that moment , watching movies and tv, spending far too much of her day on the internet, reading, talking to anyone who happens to be nearby and generally just wasting her days away.
I will inform you on which songs are in my current playlist and how my week/day has gone. You will get to hear about all the gory details of my life, and more! I will share tutorials that I have 'mastered'- yeah right. I might even write short stories and tell you about my schoolwork. Basically, I wanted my first, ever, post to explain what this blog is.
This blog may never be read. People might not be interested in my life, however this isn’t for anybody else but me. It’s not as if I have hundreds of followers begging my to let them into my life. I just want to make a mark; I don’t mind what impact it has, big or microscopic, at least I can say it is mine.

Farewell Stranger(s),
Issy xxxx
